Toucan Terrace set its own tone for development in the Pismo Beach area when its developers designed this community. The neighborhood features homes built 1984 to 1985. It was intended to have a distinct character commensurate with the coastal heritage that is associated with this region.

 

Toucan Terrace provides attractive detached housing that makes for a meaningful quality of life. Careful thought was given to all the various living systems that were incorporated into the project in 1983. Cut and fill operations were restrained to a minimum level of activity, so the housing was essentially built into the existing terrain. Energy conservation was incorporated into the development, and the social issues associated with affordable housing were addressed in a sensitive and realistic fashion during the planning stages and county/city approval process.
